David Benner exclaimed in his book,
Surrender to Love, "The single most important thing I have learned in over thirty years of study of how love produces healing is that love is transformational only when it is received in vulnerability." (p. 76)
He further said, "Genuine transformation requires vulnerability." (ibid)
He reminds us of the risk we experience by allowing ourselves "to be loved unconditionally." (ibid)
